I’m Lorrie Cardwell-Panfil, Founder of The Human Current.

I work with people and organizations who care about how they work — not just what they produce. My work sits at the intersection of human insight and organizational effectiveness, helping individuals, leaders, and teams build clarity, alignment, and more human ways of working.

The Human Current grew out of a belief I’ve carried throughout my life: people shouldn’t have to lose themselves to succeed. I’m especially interested in how individuals show up inside systems that weren’t designed with their full humanity in mind—and how organizations can function better when people are supported to work in ways that feel honest, sustainable, and alive.

I see myself as a champion for people inside systems: helping individuals do work that reflects who they are, and helping organizations create conditions where people can lead, collaborate, and contribute without self-betrayal. At its core, my work is about attention—slowing down enough to notice what’s actually happening, name what matters, and move forward with greater integrity.

I live in Maine with my husband and our rescue dog, Paco. I’m drawn to the ocean, quiet trails, and the kind of time that allows you to slow down and take things in. That rhythm—listening, noticing, making space—shapes how I work and how I show up with the people I partner with.

I bring more than 15 years of cross-functional experience across people development, marketing and communications, education, operations, and organizational strategy. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with people and teams connected to organizations including Google, Mars, DoubleVerify, and Teach For America, supporting work related to leadership identity, communication, culture, and strategic clarity.

I have a unique approach to synthesizing deep qualitative data from intensive one-on-one discovery work with individuals and identifying key insights across a group. My work has largely focused on identifying pattern-shaping behaviors, communication dynamics, and underlying narratives—helping people see themselves and their impact more clearly, and informing strategies for more aligned, effective leadership.
